So here we are at the beginning of yet another project. Despite the lurid paint job the shell of this Karmann Ghia Coupe is one of the most original and solid we have seen. She was the subject of a major custom restoration some years ago and has been a cover star and show queen.
She was sold by her creators about 5 years ago and has since fallen into disrepair. The major structure of the car is all in good condition and the 1800cc tuned engine is in very good order, but the cosmetics have suffered. As with all cars that haven't run for a while the very first port of call is to check out the mechanicals to ensure that we get her driving correctly and safely. After that the body work and interior trim will require some work.
