Project DBS V8 | £0

Last month we sold one of our Carrera 3.0 Coupe's and took an Aston Martin DBS V8 in part exchange. This, as I am sure you will understand, was a bit of a defining moment for Eclectic and we really didn't want to make a mistake with a car this expensive or complicated to fix. All the right signs were there, the previous owner had spent a cool fortune on mechanically going through the car and attending to all those parts that the experts either tell you will be warn out or were weak points even when the things were brand new.
To make sure that all was mechanically and structurally well we took the car to Birks Motor Engineers who have a lot of experience with this model for a check over. The verdict was that the DBS V8 was in great health and the only mechanics required were to change the core plugs and give her an annual oil service. With that news we decided to strike a deal and the Aston was ours. In the few minutes that it was not raining we managed to get a few snaps of the car and then set about thinking what needed to be done to get it up to standard.

The reality is that the Aston has got a fantastic history and that tens of thousands of pounds have been spent on the mechanics, but the paintwork has not been attended too for a long time and she has picked up her fair share of bumps and scrapes. There was no particular 'nasty areas' but there were marks on every panel or areas where the aluminium bodywork has started to oxidise making the paint bubble up.
We took her up to C&N Customs so that we could asses the paint with Nick and very quickly we decided that painting just the effected areas would give a very patchy finish - Not the Eclectic way at all! Added to the work required on the body we will have the alloy wheels re-finished at Lepsons in Swindon and have the engine bay detailed so there is nothing to let the car down. So with a few 'test miles' under our belt the car has been delivered to C&N for them to prep the body. Over to you boys!
