Detailing is all about bringing a vehicles condition back to its showroom best and protecting it for the future. The waxes and polishes applied to your vehicle can only give a floorless deep finish if the base paintwork is in as good a condition as possible.
Over time the paintwork on your vehicle picks up light scratches, birdlime marks and general road contamination. The only way to remove these imperfections is to subject the paintwork of your vehicle to the process below.
Details vary in time and the products used to give different levels of finish, but the basic process is the same. We will gladly talk you through the options so you get the finish you want.
Exterior
Steam clean the exterior of the vehicle including the inner arches to remove as much of the dirt as possible.
Wash the vehicle thoroughly with a PH neutral shampoo and specially formulated alloy wheel cleaner. Once this has been completed the vehicle needs to be completely dried off.
A clay bar is then used to remove any fall out that remains on the bodywork leaving it free from contaminates and ready to start the correction process.
The correction process involves using a rotary polisher with varying grades of cutting polish. Done correctly this removes the small scratches and imperfections and leaves the paint in a clean and in an unblemished state.
The next stage is to polish the bodywork which gives the deep reflective quality back to the paint. After this is done it is time to protect the paint with a protective wax. We use Autoglym’s HD Wax Treatment products, one of the greatest advancements in detailing products to hit the market.
Dress exterior plastics and tyres for the final touch
The final result - A beautifully polished, waxed and detailed Porsche 993 Turbo. We used Auto Glym products in our standard details, finishing the paintwork with a coat of their High Definition Wax. This provides a protective layer which will last for months before a top up is required. If you get the car wet the water will bead off and it will help stop bird lime, tree sap and road grime damaging the paint.
Interior
The interior of a car is where you feel the difference of a detail. Once ground in dirt and odors have got into the carpets, leather and trim it is very difficult to remove them without damaging the finish. We use a great range of specially tailored products which lift the contaminants with the minimum use of water and scrubbing which leaves the interior clean, smelling great and in as close to original condition as is possible.
With the carpets, seats and trim deep cleaned, leather can be fed to bring back its original supple condition and smell.
