A little note received from Johnathan & Nicolette.
Dear Simeon,
Thanks for making the whole buying process so easy and pleasurable. The 1977 3.0 Carrera is gorgeous, it drives so well I just can’t believe it is a 34 year old car. Your web site described the car as not looking out of place in a modern Porsche showroom. To anyone thinking of buying an Eclectic car I can assure them your descriptions are accurate – the car is immaculate. If anyone in the South of Ireland is thinking of buying from you and would like to see the Porsche give them my number. If they come and see it you will have another customer!
Steve, Cork, Ireland.
Hi Simeon,
This was taken today after a nice drive out on the freeway which cleared her throat a little and breathed in some sunny SA air. She is running very nicely now and I will need to do the door hinges before resetting the doors. Some ongoing TLC and some relationship building and we will become very close I am sure.Best regards to you all there,
Les
Hi Simeon
I noticed that you had my Porsche Carrera on your ‘sold’ gallery and thought you might like to hear how things have gone with it over the last two years since I bought it from you. If not- just stop reading here and hit delete!
The car was described by you as ‘not up to our normal standard but that I would not be disappointed with it’- and I certainly haven’t been. I have covered around 5500 trouble free miles in that time, almost all with the top down. Everywhere it goes it gets admiring looks and comments, even at the various car shows I have attended where as you might expect there are some very nice cars.
As you may recall, the car needed some minor cosmetics which totally suited me at that point and so I fixed the ashtray, used a kit to repair and re-colour the seats, had the after market aircon removed (this didn’t work and was never going to given that the compressor had been removed and the remaining bits still weighed nearly 3 stones!), had the resultant holes welded up, bought a hood cover and some second hand parts such as passenger footboard and demister parts that had been removed or chopped about for the aircon conversion and painted the wheel centres and callipers.
The 911 always starts on the button and has passed the last two MOTs without any advisories. I used to change my classics every 12-18 months but I’m planning on hanging onto this one for a while longer.
Attached a couple of photos of the car on a trip up to the North of Scotland last weekend, at Kyle of Tongue. Seven hundred miles and didn’t miss a beat.
Hope things are going well with you. Eclectic cars really seems to be going from strength to strength so long may that continue.Take care
Geoff
Stuart, Simeon
Just to update you that I’ve had an absolute blast in the MGA so far. I’m back at work now so don’t get the opportunity to drive it so often, but during February and March I was in it constantly. Last Friday I took it to Prescott Hill Climb for a non-competitive day and everybody loved it. There seems to be something hugely appealing about it . . .Attached is a photo from the day.
With best wishes
Richard
Hi Simeon – I hope that you are well.
Thought that I would give you an update to let you know that the TR6 is running better than ever. I had an extensive overhaul by Enginuity (a TR specialist) to ensure its as ‘futureproof’ as I can make it. I’ve made a few mods, the biggest being the addition of power steering which ensures parking is effortless.
Regards,
Barry
Hi Simeon
It was good to talk with you today. I have to say, your customer service and support is in a different league, and I am a lot happier that I have entrusted the sale to a very professional team. I am looking forward to seeing the final advert and thanks once again for all the hard work.
Kind Regards
Mike
Hi Simeon
It has been a pleasure doing business with you, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from you again and to recommend you to my friends. Many thanks, and best wishes for the future success of Eclectic Cars.

Hi Stuart and Simeon,
I would just like to thank you for the wonderful experience when we bought the TR6 last week. You tick all boxes with a professional but relaxed atmosphere. We are thrilled to bits with the car and are looking forward to some fun times with it.
Keep in touch,
Chuck and Sharone
Hi Guys,
Had a great day at the Ragley Hall Classic car Show on 29th May and was proud to have my XJS alongside the others on the ‘XJS Club’ stand. My son’s Aston Martin V8 was present as a ‘guest’ car and was also greatly admired. I have attached for your information a copy of the XJS Club’s Summer 2011 magazine which has a feature on the Ragley Hall show on pages 18 to 22 – including a mention and photos of E316 (and the Aston Martin).
From your website, it seems that your breakfast gathering go on 29th May was a success; sorry I couldn’t make it but it clashed with Ragley Hall. Speaking of which, your next breakfast bash on 26th June clashes with my XJS Club visit to the Jaguar Heritage Museum at Browns Lane, Coventry when we will be given a talk by the Curator on the development of the XJS together with a behind-the scenes inspection of various prototypes and development models not on general display in the Museum – should be good fun but alas I shall again have to miss your event………….one day!!
You will no doubt be glad to hear that the warranty on E316 is now up and very pleasurable those miles have been. I am now almost at the stage of resisting the temptation to ‘floor it’ at every opportunity in the interests of improved fuel economy although the temptation is still too great to resist sometimes!! An update on E316′s progress: she passed her MOT yesterday without problem.
I now intend taking E316 (I must give her a name!) to the ‘Jaguar National Northern Day’ at Newby Hall, Ripon on 10th July to see how she compares to the national competition. It should be an enjoyable day.
May I take this opportunity to put on record Catherine and I’s extreme pleasure at the friendly and professional way you have both treated us during the purchase of the XJS and your unhesitating agreement to resolving the wheel bearing and power steering leak under the warranty. It is refreshing in this day and age to deal with such enthusiastic and trustworthy people in the classic car market. We wish you every success in the future – you deserve it.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon
Best regards
Alan and Catherine
Hi Simeon,
I hope that you had a good weekend, and that you got home okay with the MGB. I trust that it performed well and gave you a pleasant drive? Simeon, it has been a pleasure doing business with you, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from you again and to recommend you to my friends. Many thanks, and best wishes for the future success of Eclectic Cars.
Keith
